Usha Balasundaram was born and grew up in Kerala, South India. Dance and music have always been her passion. She danced from her early childhood. At the age of 19, after finishing her education at the high school, she joined the famous dance institution Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts in Chennai. She has her own dance school since 2002 and has received a long list of education, awards, collaborations, and of course, dancing children and young people, spreading Indian culture in the Scandinavian space. She has been awarded by Huddinge municipality, Ekerö, and Stockholm's own culture board. She lives in Stockholm and teaches 350 students, including through Kulturskolan.
