Meaning
Avahittha is formed by crossing both hands in Alapadma at the wrists and holding them near the chest. It is often counted as the twenty-fourth combined hand, though the Abhinaya Darpana's own list has twenty-three. It is used in shringara (romantic) dance, for holding a play-ball and for the breasts.
