NatyaNetwork ("NatyaNetwork", "we", "us") operates the website natyanetwork.comand the NatyaNetwork mobile app (together, the "Service") — a professional network and directory for Indian classical dance. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to both the website and the app.
1. Information we collect
Directory information from public sources.NatyaNetwork builds a directory of dance artists, gurus, institutions, and events by aggregating information that is already public — for example public dance directories, event programmes, institution websites, and encyclopaedic sources. A profile created this way is marked "unclaimed" and contains only publicly available professional information (such as name, dance style, city, and public bio). We do not publish private contact details discovered this way; they are stored privately and shown only to connected members you approve.
Account information you provide. When you claim a profile or create an account we collect your email address (for a one-time verification code) and, if you set one, a password. If you sign in to certain tools with Google, we receive your Google account email.
Profile content you add. Bio, display name, dance styles, location, website, social links, languages, photos and videos, performance records, guru/lineage links, institution affiliations, and events you create.
Communications. Messages you send to other members through the Service, and connection/collaboration requests.
Device & usage data. A push-notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) if you enable notifications; basic profile-view and engagement counts used for your own analytics; and standard technical data such as IP address and request logs used to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the directory, profiles, messaging, events, lineage graph, and other features.
- To let you claim, edit, and control your own profile.
- To send verification codes and, if enabled, notifications you ask for.
- To display public professional profiles so artists can be discovered and connect.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
3. What is public and what is private
Professional profile fields (name, dance styles, city/country, bio, photos/videos you add, lineage, and events) are public — that is the purpose of a professional directory. Your email address, password, and any contact details you mark private are not public; you control who can see private contact information through your visibility settings and approved connections. Private messages are visible only to you and the recipient.
4. Sharing & third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service, under their own terms:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — to deliver push notifications.
- Google Sign-In — authentication for certain tools, if you use it.
- Hosting & email delivery — to serve the Service and send verification codes.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Your choices & rights
- Claim & edit: claim your profile and edit or correct your information at any time.
- Visibility: control who can see your private contact details.
- Notifications: turn push notifications off in your device settings.
- Access & deletion: request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us (below). Unclaimed public-directory listings can also be corrected or removed on request.
6. Data retention
We keep account and profile data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account we delete or de-identify your personal data, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
9. International users
NatyaNetwork serves a global dance community and is operated from India. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in India and other countries where our providers operate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
