Meaning

Vyabhichari bhavas, also called sanchari bhavas, are the transitory states that rise and fall around a sthayi bhava — doubt, anxiety, joy, weariness and the like. The Natyashastra lists thirty-three. In dance, 'sanchari' is also used for the improvised elaborations a dancer builds on a line of text.
