Aditi Balepur is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and a dedicated disciple of Smt. Roopa Anand, a passionate teacher and choreographer who has been imparting the art of Bharatanatyam for over two decades. Smt. Roopa Anand herself received extensive training, primarily spending over 28 years under the tutelage of Shanthala Awardee and Karnataka Kalashree Guru B. Bhanumati, one of India's distinguished Bharatanatyam dancers and choreographers, and holds a master's degree in Bharatanatyam from Aria University. Aditi presented her Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha on August 2, 2025, at the McAfee Performing Arts Center, an event organized by the Nrityaarpana Dance Academy. Under the guidance of Smt. Roopa Anand, who established the Nrityaarpana Dance Academy, Aditi has received holistic training encompassing both the theoretical and practical aspects of Bharatanatyam, fostering an understanding of the art's spiritual essence and encouraging its integration into daily life. Beyond her profound engagement with Bharatanatyam, Aditi Balepur is also a talented Carnatic musician. She began playing the veena at the age of three, inspired by her aunt, and has since performed at various Tyagaraja Aradhana festivals across the Bay Area. Her musical journey extends to other instruments such as the piano, violin, and clarinet, and she has also showcased her vocal talents in Carnatic recitals, including her first solo recital in June 2023. Aditi's performances in classical dance have been noted in high school cultural events, such as the 20th annual Bombay in the Bay show in February 2025, where she performed a classical act. She has also participated in collaborative dance productions, demonstrating her versatility and passion for various dance forms, including a performance in "Uptown Funk Indian Mix" in 2019 and "A NOTE TO SELF — A choreography for younger me" in 2021. Her commitment to her artistic pursuits reflects a deep connection to Indian culture and a desire to continue performing and exploring music and dance throughout her life.
