Aditi Chakravarty is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and mentor, primarily known for her expertise in Bharatanatyam. Born in Guwahati, Assam, in 1977, she has dedicated her career to the preservation and promotion of this traditional dance form. Her foundational education includes a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphics from the Government College of Arts & Crafts, Gauhati University, which she completed in 1998. Further solidifying her academic and practical understanding of classical dance, she earned a Master's Degree in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University, Thanjavur, in 2021. As a professional Bharatanatyam dancer, Aditi Chakravarty is also a dedicated choreographer and a mentor at Nrityanjali Academy, a prominent dance institution situated in Guwahati, Assam. This academy is committed to imparting traditional dance forms, particularly Bharatanatyam, to aspiring young dancers, fostering discipline and dedication among its students. Since its inception, Nrityanjali Academy has facilitated the arangetrams (debut performances) of several students, beginning in 2013, underscoring its role in shaping the next generation of classical dancers. Chakravarty's extensive performance career spans numerous prestigious dance festivals and cultural events across India. Her notable appearances include the Tanjore Dance Festival in 1998, the Udai Shankar Dance Festival in Kolkata in 2002, and the Mamallapuram Dance Festival in 2003. She has also been a regular performer at various Natyanjali festivals, including the Kumbhokonam Natyanjaly in 2015 and 2017, and the Chidambaram Natyanjaly in 2015 and 2017. Other significant engagements include the Cuttack International Dance Festival in 2017, the Tandav Rasa Festival in Kolkata in 2017, and the Bali Yatra Festival in Orissa in 2019. Her consistent presence on such esteemed platforms highlights her significant contributions and active engagement within the Indian classical dance community.
