🪔 About

Aishani Ghosh is a UK-based freelance performer, artist, teacher, choreographer, and researcher, whose movement language is rooted in Bharatanatyam, complemented by training in contemporary dance, ballet, and Uday Shankar style. She began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of five under the guidance of Smt Chitraleka Bolar. Ghosh further honed her skills at the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT), joining the Yuva Gati (South Asian National strand) programme in Birmingham in 2012 and later the contemporary strand in 2017. She graduated from the CAT programme in 2019. Her arangetram, or debut performance, took place after four years of training at CAT, placing it around 2016. Aishani Ghosh graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School in 2022 with a first-class degree and the Principal's Award. She is currently pursuing her master's degree at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, where her research aims to contribute to the South Asian dance industry. As a performer, she has worked with notable choreographers such as Vidya Patel, Shobanna Jeyasingh, Dickson MBI, and James Cousins. She is also a company artist for the Olivier-nominated Seeta Patel Dance Company. Ghosh has received recognition for her talent, including being a category finalist in the BBC Young Dancer competition and the winner of the Navadal competition in 2019. She was also named in Akademi's list of "40 under 40 dancers to look out for." Her choreographic work, which explores history, culture, and their influence on movement, includes her first staged piece for Resolutions in 2023, aimed at amplifying silenced voices. Through her diverse training and performance experience, Aishani Ghosh continues to explore and evolve her unique artistic voice. Awards & Honours: Category Finalist, BBC Young Dancer, Winner, Navadal competition (2019), 40 under 40 dancers to look out for, Principal's Award (2022).
