Aishwarya Gayathri Thangavel began her Bharatanatyam journey at the age of six, receiving initial guidance from her mother, Smt. Gayathri Thangavel. She further developed her skills at Guru Smt. Meena Elankumaran’s Nadanalaya Academy, establishing a strong foundation for her artistic growth. In 2023, Aishwarya commenced an enriching training experience under Guru Smt. Lakshanya Siddarth at Natya Praana in Melbourne, Australia, where she also serves as a teacher. Hailing from the esteemed Vazhuvoorar lineage, Aishwarya has been privileged to receive training from her uncle and aunt, the distinguished Guru Sri Swamimalai K. Suresh and Smt. Durgadevi Suresh. Her learning journey also includes tutelage from other esteemed artists such as Smt Divyasena, Smt Priyadarshini Govind, Smt Rama Vaidhyanathan, Smt Bragha Bessell, and Sri PT Narendran. Beyond Bharatanatyam, Aishwarya has pursued Carnatic Vocal Music under Guru Sri Ahilan Sivanandan and the Thanjavur Bani Gayaki style Carnatic Veena under Guru Sri Hari Sivanesan. Aishwarya has graced numerous prestigious platforms across Melbourne, Australia, including annual school concerts, the Navaratri festival, Mahashivaratri Natyanjali, Pongal festival, Diwali festival, book launches, and IPAC events in 2021 and 2022. A significant highlight of her performance career was during Prime Minister Scott Morrison's visit to the Hindu Society of Victoria in 2021. Her artistry has also extended to acclaimed performances in India at venues such as the Chidambaram Natyanjali, Mayiladuthurai Mayuranathar Natyanjali, Thanjavur Brihadeeswarar Natyanjali, and the 18th Vallalaar Isai Iyal Naatya Nataka Vizha. She has developed a deep passion for teaching and mentoring younger students with devotion and precision, aspiring to pass on the beauty and depth of Bharatanatyam to the next generation.
