Ajay Rathore is an accomplished Indian Kathak dancer and teacher, born on March 28, 1982, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Hailing from a family with a rich legacy of dancers and musicians, Rathore embarked on his Kathak journey at a young age, receiving guidance from his guru, Pt. Girdhari Maharaj. His extensive training includes a Master's degree (Nipun M.A.) in Kathak from both Bhatkhande Music Institute University, Lucknow, and Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan, Jaipur. He also holds a diploma from Kathak Kendra, Jaipur. Throughout his career, Ajay Rathore has graced numerous national and international stages, showcasing the intricate beauty of the Jaipur Gharana style of Kathak. His performances include prestigious events such as Kathak Samaroh, Virasat Utsav, Jaipur Samaroh, and the National Kathak Festival organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra in India. Internationally, he has performed and conducted workshops in Europe, with notable appearances at Mussee Guimet, Les Oriental Festival, Center Mandala, International Romanian Festival, Maison De L`inde, and Cite De La Mussee in France and Luxembourg. Beyond performing, Rathore is a dedicated educator and choreographer. He regularly conducts Kathak dance workshops in schools, dance academies, and cultural camps across India and in Paris, France. He has also choreographed numerous dances for various events, school functions, competitions, and for television channels like Jaipur Doordarshan and ETV Rajasthan. In 2012, he established the Ajay Rathore Kathak Dance Academy in Mansarover, Jaipur, where he imparts his knowledge and passion for Kathak to aspiring dancers. His contributions to the art form have been recognized with several scholarships and awards from esteemed cultural institutions.
