🪔 About
Ambili Devi is an Indian classical dancer and actress, primarily known for her work in Malayalam television and films. Born on September 2, 1985, in Chavara, Kollam district, Kerala, she is the daughter of Balachandran Pillai and Maheswari Amma. She began her journey in classical dance at the age of three and is trained in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, and Folk dance. She holds a diploma and an MA in Bharatanatyam from Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, Trichy. Ambili Devi achieved the prestigious 'Kalathilakam' title at the Kerala State School Youth Festival in 2001, a significant recognition for young artists in Kerala. She started teaching dance in 2001 and runs her own institution, Nrityodaya School of Dance and Music, based in Kollam. Her guru is Regatta Girija teacher. Despite a successful acting career that began as a child artist in 1996, Ambili Devi has consistently expressed her deep passion for dance, considering it her first love. She has continued to perform classical dance, even during her pregnancies, and has adapted to teaching online classes for her students. Awards & Honours: Kalathilakam (2001), Kerala State Television Award for Best Actress (2005), Madhyamaratna award for Best Actress.
