Anandita Narayanan is an emerging Bharatanatyam dancer, a dedicated disciple of Padma Shri Guru Geeta Chandran, a renowned exponent of the classical Indian dance form. She commenced her journey in Bharatanatyam at the tender age of eight and has been under the tutelage of Guru Geeta Chandran for thirteen years, as of an interview in 2023. Anandita's comprehensive training also includes Carnatic music, which she began learning at a young age, recognizing its crucial role in understanding the language, rhythm, and nuances essential for classical dance. Narayanan's formal debut, her Arangetram, took place on April 11, 2022, at the Triveni Kala Sangam in Mandi House, New Delhi. The significant event was hosted by Natya Vriksha, the esteemed institution led by her guru, and showcased Anandita's skillful and captivating Bharatanatyam presentation, leaving the audience mesmerized. Since her debut, Anandita has continued to perform as a solo artist, presenting significant recitals. In October 2023, she performed "Aarohanam: Steps to Discovery" at the Chinmaya Mission Auditorium in Lodhi Road, New Delhi, an evening that explored various facets of Lord Krishna's beauty and divine music. Her guru, Geeta Chandran, lauded Anandita's elegant and scintillating performance, emphasizing her creativity and continuous growth as a dancer. She further captivated audiences with "Anavarna - Exploring the Layers" at Triveni Kala Sangam in November 2025. Through this recital, Anandita gently explored the intricate layers that shape her Bharatanatyam, encompassing literature, abhinaya, rhythm, and the quiet layers of silence within her, aiming to share her belief that dance can be a profound inward journey. Born and brought up in Delhi, Anandita is currently based in Gurgaon. Beyond her passion for dance, she is also a passionate painter and is pursuing a Bachelor's in Design at the World University of Design in Sonepat, where she is in her final year. Her artistic pursuits in both dance and design reflect her creative expression and commitment to the performing arts, viewing dance as a medium to showcase her creativity to the world.
