Anita Singh is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor specializing in classical Indian dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Karanasangeetam. She also teaches Bollywood and Indian folk dances. Singh received her early Bharatanatyam training in Mumbai from Veena Menon. She continued her studies in Poland with Ewa Wardzała and in India with Rajeshwari Hande. Since 2010, her primary guru has been Nirupama Rajendry of the Abhinava Dance Company in Bangalore, under whom she also studies the Bharatanritya style, which is based on ancient Indian theatrical treatises. She has further enriched her Bharatanatyam knowledge by attending workshops with notable artists such as Leela Samson, Geeta Chandran, Radha Anjali, Sandhya Udupa, and Apeksha Mundargi. Singh also pursued Kathak, training with Jayanti Mukherjee in Kolkata. Her Kathak education includes workshops with prominent dancers like Anuj Mishra, Shovana Narayan, Nirupama Rajendra, and Polish artists Magdalena Niernsee, Artur Przybylski, and Kinga Malec. She completed a course in the Karanasangeetam technique, an ancient Indian dance methodology reconstructed by Dr. Padma Subrahmaniam, which draws from the Natyashastra treatise. Based in Krakow, Poland, Anita Singh leads the Natyalaya group, where she organizes performances and workshops with artists from India. She performs both solo and with the Natyalaya group. Her choreographic works include classical dance spectacles such as 'Devadasi' and 'Samsara,' the latter being a fusion of classical Indian dances and Indian martial arts. Singh is also a graduate of Indian Studies and Tourism Management from Jagiellonian University and works as a tour guide to India.
