Anitha Edward is a distinguished artist and educator dedicated to Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music. Her artistic journey began at the age of seven, leading to 14 years of training under revered Gurus Shri K. Mohanan and Shri K. Hariprasad Kaniyal. She is an alumna of the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in India, where she earned a four-year diploma in Carnatic Music Vocal and Bharatanatyam. Furthering her musical expertise, Anitha Edward studied Hindustani and Western Music Vocals, as well as Audio Media Engineering, at KM Music Conservatory under the guidance of Oscar-winning Music Composer Maestro A.R. Rahman. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Carnatic Music and Veena Instrument from the University of Madras, and a Master's in Dance Movement Therapy from Germany. Anitha Edward's teaching career commenced in 2010, with roles at pre-schools and NPS International School in Chennai. In 2015, she founded Siddhi Kala Academy of Indian Arts in India, which initially had two branches in Chennai and successfully trained over 100 students. Since 2019, she also instructed dance at the University of Heidelberg in Germany for three years. In response to the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Anitha Edward launched Tisram Academy of Indian Arts, an online platform based in Portugal (formerly Germany), which evolved from Siddhi Kala Academy. Tisram Academy now boasts an enrollment of over 100 students across more than 20 countries, fostering an international community dedicated to Indian artistic traditions. She has conducted numerous workshops and shows across Europe, showcasing Bharatanatyam, Carnatic Music, and Shloka Chanting.
