Anjana Ramesh Sarma is a globally acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, teacher, and organizer, recognized for her profound dedication to classical arts. She began her dance journey at the age of three and has since undergone extensive training, including advanced studies in Bharatanatyam under Smt. Kirti Ramgopal in Bangalore and in Natyashastra and Karanas under Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Her academic pursuits complement her artistic practice; she holds an MA in Dance from SASTRA University, an MA in Philosophy from Annamalai University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Bangalore University, with her doctoral research focusing on the intersection of Natya and Yoga. As a performer, Anjana Ramesh Sarma has captivated audiences on prestigious stages across India, the US, Turkey, Australia, UAE, and Malaysia. Beyond her performances, she is a passionate and dedicated teacher, known for her ability to inspire and mentor the next generation of dancers. She has successfully guided numerous students through their arangetrams, including a Chinese national and her daughter. Anjana is the Director of Laasya, the dance wing of URise Vedic Sangeetha Academy, and also leads the URise Academy of Indian Arts. She is also a certified yoga exponent from the Sivananda School of Yoga. An innovator in the field, Anjana has created several platforms to empower artists and promote the arts globally, such as 'Tarang,' the 'Online Jugalbandhi Series,' the 'Bharatanatyam Practice Calendar' on YouTube, and the 'Bharatanatyam Performers' Question Bank Series' on Instagram.
