Dr. Anupama Kylash is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, researcher, and academician, renowned for her expertise in Kuchipudi and Vilasini Natyam. Her dance journey began with Bharatanatyam under Guru Jayalakshmi Narayanan. She then delved into Kuchipudi, training for nearly a decade and a half under the tutelage of the doyen Dr. Uma Rama Rao (also known as Dr. Uma Roy). Later, she advanced her skills in Vilasini Natyam under the guidance of Padma Bhushan awardee Swapna Sundari, learning all three aspects of the dance form. Academically, Anupama Kylash holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Dance from Telugu University, and a Ph.D. in Dance from the University of Hyderabad. She is also a Vishaarad in Hindustani music from the Akhil Bharateeya Gandharva Mahavidyalay. Dr. Kylash has an extensive performance career, having given over 800 performances in India and overseas, and more than a thousand performances and workshops across ten countries. She is a faculty member at the University of Silicon Andhra, where she teaches the Masters Program in Kuchipudi. Beyond performing and teaching, Anupama Kylash has authored content for the Kuchipudi dance style syllabus for the Central Board of Secondary Education. She has also penned two books based on the Telugu Pada poets, Annamacharya and Kshetrayya, including 'Nayikas in Kshetrayya Padams' published by 'writers workshop' Kolkata. Her research interests primarily lie in Bhakti literature, and she curates 'The Thinking Cap Series' to foster research and interaction in fine and performing arts. She is the founder of 'Anubhav Centre for Performing Arts', where she trains students for solo and group presentations.
