Anupriya Krishnan is a dedicated Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer, who has made significant contributions to the art form in Dayton, Ohio, where she has been actively practicing for the past 15 years. Her profound journey in Bharatanatyam commenced at the tender age of three, marking over three decades of unwavering commitment to this classical Indian dance tradition. Throughout her extensive training, Krishnan has been fortunate to learn under the tutelage of several highly respected gurus, including Pradeep Kumar, Priyadarshini Ramchand, Radhika Raghuvir, Padmashree Dr. Shobana Chandrakumar, and Pavithra Srinivasan. This rigorous and diverse training has provided her with a strong foundation in the intricate techniques and expressive nuances of Bharatanatyam. Her academic achievements further underscore her dedication, as she holds a Masters in Fine Arts (Bharatanatyam) from the esteemed Tamil University in Tanjore, India. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Anupriya Krishnan possesses a strong academic background in STEM fields, holding Masters degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Electro Optics. Demonstrating her continuous pursuit of knowledge and mastery within the dance form, she is currently undertaking a Diploma in Nattuvangam under the guidance of Guru Layathvam Academy. Beyond her personal artistic development, Krishnan is an active choreographer, with notable works such as the "Group Classical Dance – Bogindra Sayinam". She is also deeply involved in community service, contributing her time and expertise to local non-profit organizations in Dayton through event organization, choreography, fundraising, and campaign management. Her professional life also extends to her role as an Outreach and Recruiting Coordinator at Wright State University, showcasing her multifaceted talents and commitment to both arts and education. Anupriya Krishnan exemplifies a holistic approach to Bharatanatyam, integrating profound traditional learning with contemporary practice, choreography, and community engagement.
