Anuradha Venugopal

Anuradha Venugopal is a Bharatanatyam dancer who hails from Bengaluru, India. Initially a qualified dentist, she later pursued a career in medicine, graduating with Honours in 2014 and currently working as a trainee vascular surgeon in the UK. Her journey into Bharatanatyam began at the age of 30, under the tutelage of Smt. Chitraleka Bolar (MBE). She performed her arangetram in Bangalore, India, at the age of 37. Recognizing a lack of opportunities for artists who pursue their passions later in life, Anuradha founded "Second Chance," a concept and platform aimed at celebrating and creating opportunities for such artists. This initiative was born shortly before her second child. She continues her Bharatanatyam training under Smt Deepa Ganesh of Upasana Arts and has actively participated in Upasana Arts' Ojas Sangam project. In October 2021, she produced her first solo online performance titled "Mother's Pride," inspired by Sangam Poetry. Anuradha is also involved in choreography, composes poetry, and has hosted artistic programs. She is listed as an arangetram graduate and teacher by the Chitraleka Dance Academy.
