Anushree Padmanabha is an accomplished Indian classical Odissi dancer, recognized for the depth, grace, and lyrical sensitivity of her performances. She began her formal training in Odissi under the guidance of Vidushi Smita Panigrahi, establishing a strong technical foundation. She further refined her artistry under the mentorship of renowned Odissi exponent and senior guru Karnataka Kalashri Sharmila Mukerjee at the Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance in Bengaluru. Anushree has also enriched her understanding of the art form by attending workshops conducted by eminent Odissi exponents such as Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh and SNA awardees Aruna Mohanty and Aloka Kanungo. Additionally, she has completed Phase I of Navarasa Sadhana, an actor-training methodology under Guru G. Venu. As a graded artiste of Doordarshan and an empanelled artiste with Spic Macay, Anushree has performed extensively both nationally and internationally. Her international performances include those in Seychelles, East Africa, as part of the Sanjali Dance Ensemble. She has been a principal dancer with the Sanjali Dance Ensemble, performing at prestigious festivals such as the Dover Lane Dance Festival, Dance Jathre, Bangalore International Arts Festival, Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav, Bengaluru Odissi Utsav, and Madanotsava. Her repertoire includes pieces like "Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam" (Mangalacharan), "Batu Nritya", "Lalita Lavanga" (Jayadev Ashtapadi), "Manikyaveena", "Keerwani Pallavi", "Moksha", "Rituyaana", "Durga Stuti", and "Khamaj Pallavi". Anushree co-founded the Kalaatapah Academy of Performing Arts in Mysuru with her husband, renowned violinist Mysore Karthik, with the aim of imparting knowledge of Indian arts to future generations. She dedicates herself to training numerous students in the Kelucharan Mohapatra style of Odissi dance and actively creates platforms for their performances, fostering their artistic growth and confidence. Beyond dance, Anushree is also trained in Karnatak vocal music, Warli art, and yoga. Awards & Honours: Nruthya Bhushana Award (2026), B-High Grade (2024).
