Anusree Bonnerjee is a distinguished Indian classical dancer and choreographer specializing in Bharatanatyam, recognized for her extensive performances both within India and internationally. She is a senior disciple of the late Kalaimamani Guru T.K. Mahalingam Pillai, who was associated with the Sri Rajarajeshwari Bharatha Natya Kala Mandir in Mumbai. Bonnerjee has dedicated over three decades to creative dance choreography, often utilizing dance as a medium for social change and incorporating diverse art forms into her productions. She has more than 40 productions to her credit and has extensively explored the works of Rabindranath Tagore. Her career highlights include serving as a Visiting Scholar (Dance) at California State University, San Diego. Beyond her performance career, Anusree Bonnerjee has a significant teaching legacy. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of her dance company, Drutam Dance Ideas Lab, which has garnered critical acclaim for its unique productions. She also holds the position of Creative Director at the Shahana Tagore Centre for Indian Music and Culture. Bonnerjee has a successful track record of working with over 7500 schoolchildren, creating large-scale productions based on classics like Ashoka, Mahabharata, and Swan Lake. She also offers online Bharatanatyam courses, providing personalized feedback and completion certificates to her students.
