Guru Vidushi Asha Adiga Acharya is a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, Carnatic music performer, choreographer, composer, and educator with over 34 years of experience in the field. She received her formal Bharatanatyam training in the Kalakshetra dance style from Vidhwan Raja Gopala Bhagavath and Vidushi Poornima Bhagavath, completing her 'Vidhwat' level under their guidance. She also received training from Guru Shubha Dhananjaya (Shubha Narasimayya) and Hanumanthraj in her early career. A child prodigy, Asha Adiga Acharya represented India on the international stage as a dancer at the age of nine, performing in Paris, France, in 1992, and at Bal Bhavan Delhi. She holds a 3rd Rank in the state-level 'Vidhwat' examination conducted by the Secondary Board of Karnataka government. Asha Adiga Acharya founded the Sanskruti School of Dance in Davangere, Karnataka, India, and later established the Acharya Performing Arts Academy Inc. in Illinois, USA, with a vision to promote Indian classical art forms. Under her guidance, over 500 students have learned various art and dance forms. She is known for her innovative choreographies, including unique dance dramas like "Rama-Eshawara" and "Satya Narayana Katha," which blend classical forms with opera style. She also developed "Nrithya Yoga," a distinctive dance creation involving balancing pots, holding lamps, and performing yoga postures. Her performances have graced prestigious stages globally, including the Winter Garden at World Financial Center in New York City and Maison des Cultures du Monde in Paris. She is also an esteemed member of the International Dance Council CID – UNESCO. Awards & Honours: Sharada Puraskara, Air India Rank Award (2006), Kala Isiri Award (2006), Outstanding Young Indian Award (2003), Talented Student Award, Indian Government Scholarship in Senior Dance, Extraordinary Artist Greencard, Karnataka State 'Vidhwat' (Proficiency Grade Examination) Rank, 1st Prize in Music and Dance at the National Level Competition.
