Aswathy V. Nair is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and choreographer, proficient in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. Born to the acclaimed writer M. T. Vasudevan Nair and renowned dancer Kalamandalam Saraswathy, she began her dance training at the age of seven. Her extensive tutelage includes guidance from her mother, Kalamandalam Saraswathy, as well as from esteemed gurus like Kalamandalam Leelamma and Padma Bhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam. She also received training from Smt. Chandrika, Smt. Kalakshethra Shali Vijayan, Padma Sasikumar, and learned Kuchipudi from Smt. Anupama Mohan. Her Mohiniyattam training continues under Smt. Kalamandalam Sugandhi. As an A-grade artist of Doordarshan in both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, Aswathy V. Nair has performed extensively across India and internationally in countries such as the UAE, Bahrain, USA, Canada, and Singapore. She frequently performs as a duo with her husband, N. Srikanth, showcasing a blend of versatility and elegance. Beyond her dance career, she is also recognized for her articles on artistic experiences and has ventured into filmmaking, co-producing and directing the anthology series "Manorathangal," based on her father's short stories. In 2000, Aswathy V. Nair co-founded the Lakshya School of Music and Dance with her husband, Anil Nair. The institution is dedicated to preserving and propagating the true essence of ancient Indian classical dance forms to aspiring artists.
