Athulya Rakesh is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, proficient in both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Her journey in dance commenced at the tender age of six, with her initial Bharatanatyam training under the tutelage of Sri. Gopakumar and Smt. Kalamandalam Vathsala Hari in Kerala. She further honed her Bharatanatyam skills by attending workshops conducted by esteemed gurus such as Smt. Padma Subhramaniyam and Smt. Ramavaidyanathan, and is currently a disciple of Guru Nadanamamani Dr. Janaki Rangarajan in Chennai. Athulya's artistic range extends to Mohiniyattam, which she studied for many years under the guidance of Smt. Vinitha Nedungadi, a renowned exponent of the form in Palakkad, Kerala. She has been learning and performing under Smt. Vinitha Nedungadi for over 19 years. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Athulya holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, a Diploma in Bharatanatyam from IGNOU, and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Bharatanatyam from Annamalai University. As a performer, Athulya Rakesh has graced stages across India and internationally, including events like the Indian Independence Celebrations in the Republic of Maldives, the 1st International Dance & Music Festival in Malaysia, and the IKKF Utsavam in Dubai with her guru Smt. Vinitha Nedungadi. She is also a graded Doordarshan artist. In 2011, Athulya Rakesh founded and has since been successfully running the Rangasri Dance Institute in her hometown of Palakkad, where she imparts her knowledge of classical dance.
