Atri Nundy

Atri Nundy is a mid-career dance artist, educator, and choreographer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She completed her arangetram in 2005, having trained at Sampradaya Dance Academy under the tutelage of Lata Pada CM (Order of Canada). Following her graduation, Nundy returned to Sampradaya Dance Academy as an instructor, where she continues to teach and contribute to the Arangetram Training Program as an Assistant. She also holds the position of Assistant Artistic Director at the academy. Beyond her teaching roles, Atri Nundy is a Company dancer and choreographer with Sampradaya Dance Creations. Her performance career has seen her tour extensively in India, Indonesia, the UK, and the Caribbean. Nundy's professional practice is diverse, encompassing Bharatanatyam and various contemporary dance forms. She has collaborated with several Toronto-based companies, including KasheDance, NovaDance, Anandam Dancetheatre, and Toronto Dance Theatre. As a choreographer, Nundy has created works such as "Mindful Chatter," commissioned by Anandam Dancetheatre in April 2022, and "helix," which premiered in March 2023 as part of Toronto Dance Theatre's "Convergent Divergency" program. She also performed in "Broken Lines," an award-winning duet with Neena Jayarajan, presented in February 2018. Atri Nundy is also a collaborator with Kala Dance Collective.
