Banani Kalita Sutradhar is a professional Indian classical dancer and choreographer, proficient in both Bharatanatyam and Sattriya dance forms. She completed a Diploma course in Bharatanatyam from Kalabhumi, studying under the internationally acclaimed Guru Indira P. P. Bora. Furthering her Bharatanatyam education, she successfully completed the Visharad course from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, Lucknow. In the realm of Sattriya dance, Banani Kalita Sutradhar acquired her expertise under Guru Shri Narayan Kalita Barbayan and earned a Sattriya Gunin course certification from Sangeet Satra Parisad. She continues to receive advanced training in Sattriya dance from Bayanacharya Ghanakanta Bora Muktiar and Shri Manik Borbayan of Bhogpur Sattra. Throughout her career, she has performed on numerous prestigious cultural stages, including Rabindra Bhawan, District Library, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Oil India Limited, Khadi Gramodyog Exhibition, and Gauhati University. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Banani Kalita Sutradhar is also engaged in academic research, pursuing a Ph.D. in Material Science (Chemistry) at Gauhati University under the guidance of Prof. A. K. Talukdar. She has recently established her own dance school, aiming to further contribute to the world of art and culture.
