🪔 About

Bijal Haria is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, proficient in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, recognized for her elegant form and profound knowledge. Her journey in dance commenced at the age of nine, leading her to extensive training under esteemed gurus. For Bharatanatyam, she received initial training from Ms. Smita Shastri at Nartan and subsequently underwent fifteen years of tutelage under the renowned guru and SNA Awardee Dr. Sandhya Purecha. In Kuchipudi, she trained for a decade under the legendary Guru Padmabhushan Dr. Raja Radha Reddy at Natya Taringini, Performing Arts Centre, New Delhi. Haria is also actively pursuing a PhD in Bharatanatyam, having completed a comparative study of Jayasenapati's Nritta Ratnavali with the support of a Government of India's Junior Fellowship from 2014 to 2016. Driven by a profound passion to preserve and promote classical dance, Bijal Haria established the Parampara Academy of Performing Arts in Ahmedabad in 2010. The academy is dedicated to providing comprehensive training in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, integrating Sanskrit shlokas, taalam, and in-depth knowledge of the Shastras to foster a holistic cultural understanding among its students. Parampara is distinguished as the sole center in Gujarat offering a 10-year Diploma in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi from Sarfojiraje Bhosale Centre, Mumbai. It also provides pathways for students to pursue Pre-Degree, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees in Performing Arts from Bharata College of Fine Arts and Culture, Mumbai, under the guidance of Dr. Sandhya Purecha. Haria has performed extensively across India and internationally, earning numerous accolades for her contributions to the art form. She is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of dancers, instilling in them the values of hard work, dedication, and a profound respect for classical Indian dance.
