Chandra Devi, also known as Simone Brero, is a dedicated figure in Indian classical dance, primarily Bharatanatyam. She is the founder and head of the Natyadhara dance school in Munich, Germany. Her training in Bharatanatyam follows the classical Kalakshetra style. Chandra Devi received her dance education from Smt. Shyamala Surendran, who is the esteemed founder and head of the Dharani School of Performing Arts in Cochin, Kerala. Additionally, she had the privilege of receiving instruction from the renowned Abhinaya teacher Padmabhushan Kalanidhi Narayanan. Chandra Devi is recognized as a highly skilled Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher. She has performed in both Germany and India, showcasing her artistry. Her institution, Natyadhara, was established in 2007 and offers Bharatanatyam training to students ranging from beginners to experienced dancers. The school also oversees the performing group "Natyananda," which regularly presents performances across Germany. Through Natyadhara, Chandra Devi contributes to the propagation and understanding of Indian classical dance in Europe. Her teaching legacy includes guiding students through rigorous training and performances.
