Chinnamanur J Krishnakumar is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, teacher, choreographer, and performer specializing in Bharatanatyam. Hailing from Chinnamannur, a village near Theni, he received his initial dance training from Smt. Chithra Ramanathan of Annamalai University. He further honed his skills at the esteemed Kalakshetra, where he was mentored by the legendary Padmabhushan Prof. C.V. Chandhrasekhar and Smt. Jaya Chandhrasekhar. Krishnakumar is recognized for his dynamic performances, charismatic choreography, and dedication as a teacher. He is also an eloquent compere and an enthusiastic singer. He founded Shri Nrithyalaya, a prominent dance institute in Chennai, and has been instrumental in shaping numerous young talents in this ancient art form. His extensive career includes performances and workshops in various countries, including Japan, Australia, USA, Kuwait, Mauritius, Austria, Hungary, and Germany. He has choreographed several dance ballets, such as 'Panchali Sabhatham,' 'Alamunda Kandan,' 'Padhuka Patabhhishekam,' 'Swagatham Krishna,' 'Valli Thirumanam,' 'Dasavatharam,' 'Pranasaka Sri Krishna,' and 'Innu Oru Kannan Varuvana.'
