Deepak Venkateswaran, also known as Deepak Venkatesh, is a Bharatanatyam teacher and performer with over three decades of experience in the classical arts. An alumnus of the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, he has had the honor of performing alongside renowned artists such as Dr. Padma Subrahmaniam and Dr. Vyjayanthimala Bali. His career has taken him internationally, including serving as a faculty member at the Singapore Fine Arts Academy. Venkateswaran has presented over 1,000 performances at temple festivals across Tamil Nadu as part of the sacred Punaruuddharana Festival. He is the founder of Vipanchi, an institution in his hometown of Kumbakonam dedicated to nurturing classical talent and preserving the divine tradition of Bharatanatyam. Vipanchi has since grown into a vibrant hub for students from Thanjavur, Madurai, and Manjakudi. As a nattuvanar, he has conducted more than 200 Salangai Poojas and mentored over 40 Arangetrams, with many of his students blossoming into independent performers. His choreographic works include a centenary tribute to M.S. Subbulakshmi and devotional pieces for Abinaya Creations. His performances and teaching have been recognized by the Tamil Nadu State Government, and he has had the privilege of presenting at cultural festivals such as Mahamaham in Kumbakonam and the Ooty Flower Show.
