Deepali Vichare is a renowned Indian classical Kathak dancer, guru, and choreographer with over three decades of experience in the art form. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Kathak and is recognized for her significant contributions to both classical dance and the film industry. Vichare is a visiting faculty member at prestigious institutions such as Mumbai University, the Film & Television Institute of India, Xavier's Institute of Communication, and Whistling Woods International. Her extensive career includes choreographing for over 90 films and numerous events, primarily in the Marathi film industry, where she is highly revered. She has also mentored dance reality shows, sharing her expertise with a wider audience. Driven by a passion to preserve and pass on the legacy of dance in its purest form, Deepali Vichare founded the Aarat Dance Academy in 1997. The academy, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, offers professional training in various dance forms, with a strong emphasis on Kathak, drawing knowledge from the Jaipur, Banaras, and Lucknow gharanas. Aarat Dance Academy has multiple branches in India, including Mumbai and Kochi, Kerala, and has expanded internationally with centers in the USA (California and Washington). Beyond traditional Kathak, Vichare is also trained in other dance styles such as Ballroom dancing, Jive, Flamenco, Merengue, and Foxtrot. She has notably experimented with innovative collaborations, including Kathak-Flamenco and Ballet-Kathak fusions. Her dedication to teaching and performing has made her a prominent figure in the Indian classical dance landscape, with a vision to spread the art worldwide.
