Dr. Dimple Kaur is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, trained in Bharatanatyam, Vilasini Natyam, and Chaau dance forms. She received her training from eminent gurus including Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh, Padma Bhushan Swapna Sundari, and Padma Bhushan & Padma Sri Dr. Padma Subramaniyam, accumulating over 30 years of experience in learning and performing Indian classical dance. Beyond her performance career, Dr. Kaur is a practicing psychotherapist who has pioneered work in mind-body development and dance movement therapy. She is the creator of Applied Natya Therapy (ANT), a unique psychotherapeutic healing modality that integrates the clinical applications of psychology with the ancient Indian science of dance, expression, and emotion, Natya Shastra. This pedagogy offers therapeutic benefits for various physical and mental illnesses and is practiced in therapy rooms, classrooms, and workplaces worldwide. Dr. Kaur is the founder director of Sumangali Arts LLC in the USA, and the IMATTER Institute of Counselling and Behavior Science (also known as IMATTER Institute of Behavioral Science) and Sumangali Institute of Valuable Arts (SIVA), both based in New Delhi, India. Her institutes are dedicated to preserving and promoting cultural heritage and mental well-being through research in arts and science. She has directed over 20 professional dance and theatre productions, and her solo shows, such as "Main Amrita," "Rape Unreported," "Kali Darpanam," and "Aatm Rati," have toured extensively across India and internationally. Additionally, she has worked as an actor under the direction of F. Alkazi and Bhaskar Ghose, appearing in various TV serials and movies. Dr. Kaur also serves as a visiting faculty for Indian Classical Dance at several universities. She offers certification courses for Applied Natya Therapy, training individuals as Certified Natya Therapists.
