Dipjoy Sarkar is an Indian classical Odissi dancer, recognized for his performances and dedication to the art form. He is a disciple of the esteemed Guru Smt. Sharmila Biswas and is closely associated with her institution, the Odissi Vision and Movement Centre. Sarkar has showcased his talent at various prominent dance festivals and events across India. His repertoire includes several choreographies by his guru, such as "Gatibilash," a piece inspired by the gaits and moods of animals and birds, which he performed at the Pancham Veda Utsav organized by Prasannakshee in Bhubaneswar. He has also presented "Srishti Tatwa," an exploration of Jayadeva's Dashavatar, and "Kundalika," both choreographed by Smt. Sharmila Biswas. Dipjoy Sarkar's solo performances include "Abahani," an invocation inspired by the traditional Ranga Puja, which he presented at the MES Kalavedi Dance Festival. He has also performed duets, such as "Prano Sangini Re" with Raaginni Hindocha, at events like Guru Smaranam 2026, organized by Srijan Chhanda Odissi Dance Institution. His participation extends to significant platforms like the International Odissi Dance Festival 2025, Konark Festival 2025, and Sanjukta Panigrahi Yuva Mahotsav 2025. The music for some of his performances, like "Gatibilash," has featured compositions by Debashish Sarkar and rhythm by Bijay Kumar Barik. Through his performances, Dipjoy Sarkar continues to contribute to the propagation and appreciation of Odissi dance.
