Dipti Mallik is a distinguished exponent and Guru of Odissi, one of India's oldest classical dance forms. Her journey in Odissi began at the tender age of five, under the rigorous tutelage of esteemed Gurus Ramani Ranjan Jena and Raghunath Dutta. With over thirty-five years of dedicated experience in the art form, she has graced numerous stages nationally and internationally, showcasing her profound understanding and graceful execution of Odissi. Dipti Mallik holds a Master's Degree in Odissi dance, further solidifying her academic and practical mastery. Her commitment to the art form has been recognized through prestigious accolades, including the Kalashree Award in 2023 and scholarships as a CCRT Junior and Senior Scholar from India. In 2012, driven by a passion to propagate the rich tradition of Odissi, she founded the NrityaTara School of Odissi Dance in the Bay Area, California. As the Artistic Director and a dedicated Guru, she imparts authentic Odissi technique and repertoire to students of all ages across Dublin, Milpitas, Mountain House, and through online classes. Beyond her role as an institution head and teacher, Dipti Mallik also serves as a visiting professor at UC Santa Cruz, contributing to the academic discourse and outreach of Indian classical dance.
