🪔 About

Dipti Routray is an accomplished Indian classical dancer specializing in Odissi. Born in 1977, she began her training in Odissi dance at an early age under the tutelage of Guru Durga Charan Ranbir. She furthered her education by completing her Sangeet Visharad from Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and Nritya Bhaskar from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Routray was awarded a national scholarship from the Department of Culture, Government of India, to specialize in Odissi dance. Throughout her career, Dipti Routray has performed extensively both within India and internationally. Her national performances include appearances at prestigious festivals such as Konark, Nishagandhi, Haridas, Puri Beach, Khajuraho, and Swarnotsav, organized by the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi in New Delhi. She has also represented India on international platforms, performing in Kazakhstan for India's 50th Independence Day (organized by ICCR), as well as in Venezuela, Colombia, and Germany. Routray is recognized as a senior disciple of Guru Durga Charan Ranbir and is particularly noted for her abhinaya, such as "Kie lo sajani". She represents the Debaprasad Das gharana of Odissi dance. Beyond performing, Dipti Routray is also a dedicated teacher and choreographer. She is associated with Biswanath Sangeetalaya in Cuttack, an institution that hosts and performs classical dances. In 2018, she organized an Odissi dance festival in Bhubaneswar focused on promoting Padi. She continues to choreograph and present her students' performances on various platforms.
