🪔 About
Diptimayee Sahu is an emerging Odissi dancer known for her performances in the Debaprasad Das style. She has been described as a young and upcoming artist in the field of Indian classical dance. Sahu received her training from Guru Gajendra Panda, who taught her choreographic works of the late Guru Debaprasad Das. She is associated with Tridhara Bhubaneswar and Debaprasad Kala Tirtha, Brahmapur, with Tridhara being an institution originally started by Debaprasad Das and now managed by her guru, Gajendra Panda. Sahu has performed at prominent venues such as Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar, notably as part of the "Ekaika" solo dance program. Her performances have featured pieces with music compositions by Ramahari Das and Gopal Chandra Panda. She has been accompanied by a group of musicians including vocalists Binod Chandra Panda and Sangeeta Panda, mardala player Ramachandra Behera, sitarist Swapneswar Chakraborty, flautist Jabahar Mishra, and Guru Gajendra Panda on manjira and ukuta. Critics have noted her potential as an abhinaya expert, highlighting her expressive facial expressions and corresponding body and limb movements.
