Divya Balasubramanian is a dedicated Bharatanatyam practitioner and a senior disciple of Guru Padmalakshmi Sriram. She has pursued her extensive dance training for many years under the tutelage of Guru Padmalakshmi Sriram at the Lalitha Kalalaya Dance School. As one of the senior-most students, Divya has consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to the art form. Her performance experience includes participation in numerous local community programs and festival celebrations, where she has performed alongside her fellow disciples. In addition to her continued training and performances, Divya Balasubramanian has actively contributed to the propagation of Bharatanatyam by teaching young and new students for at least three years. Her guru, Padmalakshmi Sriram, founded the Lalitha Kalalaya Dance School in 2009, building upon over 15 years of prior experience in supervising and running a dance school, with her involvement in training young minds in Bharatanatyam dating back to 1994. Since July 2013, Guru Padmalakshmi Sriram has been based in Brisbane, Australia, where she operates Lalitha Kalalaya Dance School across three different locations. This indicates Divya Balasubramanian's primary association and teaching activities are likely within the Brisbane area, contributing to the school's mission of imparting traditional and cultural values through dance.
