🪔 About

Divya Ramkumar is an accomplished Bharatanatyam artiste, recognized for her profound talent and unwavering dedication to the classical Indian dance form. Originally from Kerala, India, she commenced her rigorous training under the esteemed guidance of Sri. Sunil Nellay, who has been a pivotal figure in shaping her mastery of Bharatanatyam. Her artistic versatility extends beyond Bharatanatyam, as she has also diligently pursued and gained proficiency in other Indian regional dance forms, including Kuchupudi, Mohiniyattom, and various traditional folk dances, enriching her expressive repertoire. Throughout her illustrious career, Divya has graced numerous national and international stages, delivering captivating performances that have garnered critical acclaim and established her as a notable figure in the arts world. She is the visionary founder and Artistic Director of the Natyanjali Dance School, an institution committed to imparting comprehensive Bharatanatyam education and training to a diverse student body, ranging from young children as early as five years old to adults up to fifty years of age. In addition to her academy, Divya is a dedicated core member of Samarpana Classical Arts, a grassroots organization specifically established to offer a supportive platform for adults who wish to re-engage with dance after a period of absence. Her commitment to fostering artistic growth is evident in her efforts to organize workshops, lecture demonstrations, and performance opportunities, all designed to instill confidence, enhance stage presence, promote teamwork, and facilitate holistic development among her students. Divya also actively works to spread awareness of India's rich traditional arts within the wider community by conducting workshops and demonstrations in schools, hospitals, sheltered homes, and various public spaces. Her contributions to the art form have been recognized with awards such as Kalathilakam and Yuva Natya Puraskar in 2017. While primarily based out of Kerala, India, her work also has a significant presence in Cambridge, UK, where her school operates. Awards & Honours: Kalathilakam, Yuva Natya Puraskar (2017).
