Divya Ravi is a distinguished Bharatanatyam practitioner, performing artiste, choreographer, and educator, recognized among the most prominent young soloists in the South Asian dance arena. Her artistic journey began at the age of five, leading to rigorous formative training in India. She received foundational guidance from The Kirans (Sri Kiran Subramanyam and Smt Sandhya Kiran) and underwent extensive training for two decades under Guru Dr. Soundarya Srivathsa. Further honing her craft, she specialized in Abhinaya under Bragha Bessel and explored the Navarasa Sadhana actor training module with Kootiyattam exponent G Venu. Divya also delved into Kathak, training under Sri T.D. Rajendra and Smt Nirupama Rajendra, and performed as a principal dancer with their Abhinava Dance Company. Currently, she continues her artistic pursuits in the UK, mentored by Mavin Khoo. Beyond her dance career, Divya holds degrees in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Marketing, having initially worked in Branding and Communications. She is a graded artiste of Doordarshan and empaneled with the Ministry of Culture for Festivals of India Abroad and SPICMACAY. Her sensitive and immersive performances, marked by conviction, ownership of movement vocabulary, finesse, fluidity in expressions, innate musicality, and a commanding stage presence, have graced coveted stages across India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Hong Kong, the UK, Europe, and China. As a choreographer, Divya is known for creating thought-provoking works that translate lyrical, poetic, and abstract ideas into compelling narratives, including productions like MANJARI, SARVASYA, POEMS OF LOVE, NARMADA, KANHOPATRA, VITTHAMAI, PREYASI, and ABANDHANA. She is actively associated with leading dance organizations in England, such as DanceEast, FABRIC, Akram Khan Company, The Bhavan, Akademi, and SAMPAD.
