Dr. Pranitha Kamat Ebert is a Bharatanatyam performer, educator, author, and biomedical scientist based in Switzerland. Born in India, she began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of five, later pursuing more serious studies under Guru Smt. Vandya Srinath from 2003. She completed her arangetram in 2005 and holds a Diploma in Bharatanatyam from Bharathidasan University. Dr. Kamat Ebert moved to Switzerland in 2006 for higher education. She earned a Master's degree in Drug Design and Biomedical Science from Edinburgh Napier University, graduating with Distinction and a Gold Medal. She then completed a PhD in Biomedical Science at the University of Bern, Switzerland, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She later returned to Switzerland as an Independent Postdoctoral Researcher at University Hospital Zurich and currently works as a Principal Investigator at a Contract Research Organization (CRO). In 2020, Dr. Kamat Ebert founded Natya Chittra, an initiative dedicated to developing and implementing novel methodologies for learning Indian dance. Through Natya Chittra, she offers consultation and training to Bharatanatyam students and has authored a series of workbooks, including 'Listen. Read. Choreograph' (released October 2020) and the 'Abhinaya Darpanam Series', published under Vedathek Publishing House. She is also involved in science communication, using Bharatanatyam vocabulary to illustrate and communicate scientific concepts, a venture she formally began in 2020. Additionally, she co-founded Swiss Natya Sabha, a platform for Indian Classical artists and patrons in Switzerland. Her work emphasizes the synergy between science and art, applying scientific approaches to dance and artistic visualization in science. Awards & Honours: Gold Medal, Postdoctoral Fellowship.
