Dr. Priya Karthikeyan is a distinguished Indian classical dancer and guru, recognized for her expertise in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. She holds the title of Acharya Kala Vipanchee Guru and is the Artistic Director of Natyaranjana, a school dedicated to Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Dr. Karthikeyan received her Bharatanatyam training under the tutelage of the esteemed Kalamami Srimati K.J. Sarasa. She began her dance journey at the age of seven or eight, also learning Kuchipudi and Carnatic music, which she considers integral to dance. Dr. Karthikeyan is an active performer and also provides nattuvangam for other dancers, as seen in her accompaniment for Guru Gayathri Chandrashekar's 'Anubhavam' performance. She is committed to promoting classical dance and teaches students globally through online classes, with her direct classes based in Chennai. She emphasizes that passion, not age, is the key to pursuing classical dance. Dr. Priya Karthikeyan hails from a family deeply rooted in the arts, with her father being character artist P.J.
