Dr. Vijayalakshmi Villadathu, known as Viji, is a dedicated Bharatanatyam dancer, educator, and the Managing Director and Founder of Thakajum Indian Dance & Music Academy. Her initial training in Bharatanatyam began as a child under Guru Smt. Kala Govardhan. She further honed her skills by learning from various well-known professional Bharatanatyam dancers at different dance schools over several years. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Dr. Villadathu holds an impressive professional background. She is an engineer with an MBA and a Doctorate in Business Administration, having accumulated over 28 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the Telecom, Banking, and IT Consulting industries. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching IT and Business. Dr. Villadathu is actively involved in fostering cultural exchange. She served as the President of the Deutsch-Indische Gesellschaft (Indo-German Society) - Nürnberg Franken from 2013 to 2020, an organization dedicated to promoting cultural and political exchanges between Germany and India.
