Farjana Yasmin is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, performer, teacher, and research scholar specializing in Odissi and Kuchipudi dance forms. She holds a post-graduation in Odissi dance from Rabindra Bharati University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Indian classical dance from Sister Nivedita University in Kolkata, where she also teaches B.A. and M.A. students in the Department of Fine Arts and Performing Arts. She has qualified for the UGC NET in Performing Arts, making her eligible for university-level teaching. Farjana Yasmin has received training in Odissi under Vidhushi Shatabdi Dey Mallick and in Kuchipudi under Vidhushi Amrita Singh Didi. Her performance career includes solo recitals and group choreographies at prestigious venues and festivals across India, such as the Venkateshwara Swamy Temple in Hyderabad, Shilparamam in Hyderabad, the Indian Museum in Kolkata, the Sister Nivedita University Freshers' Program, the Kolkata Odissi Utsav 2022, the G20 summit, and the Konark Festival 2023. She is recognized as an A-grade West Bengal EZCC Artist and a B-grade Orissa Bhubaneswar Doordarshan Artist. Beyond performance and teaching, Farjana Yasmin is also a researcher, having authored a paper titled "The Evaluation of Odissi Dance in the Post-Independence Era: Through the Lens of Indo-Bangladesh Background" in Sangeet Galaxy, Vol. 13, No. 1, in January 2024.
