Gautam Marathe is a professional Bharatanatyam dancer from Mumbai, India, known for his dynamic and athletic approach to the classical form. He holds a BA and Masters in Bharatanatyam (Performing Arts) from Pune. Marathe received his primary training in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Guru Shri Vaibhav Arekar. In addition to his classical foundation, he has also trained in contemporary dance and ballet with Ashley Lobo's Danceworx in Mumbai, and has also trained in aerial silk. As a principal member of the Sankhya Dance Company, Gautam Marathe has performed extensively in India and internationally, participating in prestigious festivals such as the Music Academy of Madras, Modhera festival, Konark Festival, and Dhawali festival. He made his debut at the Madras Music Academy on January 10, 2026, where his performance was lauded for its blend of technical rigor, athletic urgency, and meditative depth, showcasing a sophisticated evolution of male Bharatanatyam dancers. Marathe has also showcased his talent on television reality shows like India's Got Talent and Mam Talent Europe. Beyond dance, he is also an actor, model, and Rabindra Sangeet performer, and has assisted choreographer Diwakar Nayal for shows like Jhalak Dikhla Ja and Nach Baliye. He is also involved in teaching, having conducted workshops on Yoga and Meditation for dancers and musicians.
