Geetanjali Acharya is a distinguished Indian classical Odissi dancer and choreographer, recognized for her profound artistry and dedication to the dance form. She received her initial training under the esteemed Guru Ratikant Mohapatra and is a senior disciple of "Srjan," the renowned institution founded by legendary Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Acharya further honed her skills through advanced training under Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra himself, and later benefited from the guidance of Sujata Mohapatra. She continues her learning under Guru Ratikant Mohapatra. Geetanjali Acharya completed her Nrutya Shastri Purna, a qualification recognized by the Orissa Sangeet Natak Academy. Throughout her career, Geetanjali Acharya has performed extensively both as a soloist and as a member of Srjan's repertoire group, captivating audiences within India and internationally. Her performances are noted for their "angasuddhi" (purity of limb) and grace, embodying a dance of devotion and delight essential to Odissi. Beyond her performing career, Acharya is also a dedicated educator. She was designated by her guru, Shri Ratikant Mohapatra, to teach junior students at Srjan. She also teaches and performs Odissi dance at the Indian Cultural Centre in Busan, South Korea, where she currently resides. Additionally, she is associated with SPIC MACAY and has a significant number of students in Odisha. Her contributions to Odissi dance have been acknowledged with several prestigious awards. She is a recipient of the National Scholarship in Odissi dance from the Department of Culture, Government of India. She has also been honored with the "Singarmani" title from Mumbai's Sur Singar Samsad for her performance at the Kal-ke-Kalakar festival and the "Natyashree" by Natraj Kala Academy, Vishakapatnam. In 2022, Geetanjali Acharya was conferred the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Yuva Prativa Award for Odissi dance.
