Geetha Ganesan is a highly acclaimed Bharatanatyam exponent, Naatyacharya (Dance Guru), Nattuvanar, vocalist, and choreographer, recognized for her versatility and innovative presentations. Based in Hyderabad, India, she is the founder and director of the Uttaraa Center for Performing Arts (UCPA). Geetha Ganesan holds a Master's Degree in Performing Arts (MPA) from the University of Hyderabad and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics (Hons.) from Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalay, Indore. Her extensive training in Bharatanatyam began under Guru Sri P.R. Balakrishnan, followed by guidance from Guru Sri V.S. Ramamurthy and Guru Smt. Manjula Ramaswamy of Sri Rama Nataka Niketan, Hyderabad. She further honed her skills in Nrtta under Smt. Savitri Jagannatha Rao and Abhinaya under Smt. Priyadarshini Govind in Chennai, also receiving guidance from Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar and Smt. Kalanidhi Narayan. Geetha Ganesan is also a trained Carnatic vocalist, having studied under Brahmasri Kollegal R. Subramanyam for over four years. With over 25 years of experience as a performing artist and 15 years as a dance instructor, Geetha Ganesan has performed internationally in countries such as the USA, Norway, Spain, and Sri Lanka. She is an 'A' grade artiste of Doordarshan and the Department of Culture, Government of India. She is known for introducing 'Naatyanjali Hyderabad' under the UCPA banner, a dance festival held at the Shringeri Shankar Math, Nallakunta, inspired by her seven years of participation in the Natyanjali festival in Chembur, Mumbai. Geetha Ganesan has also authored a book titled 'Basics of Bharatanatyam' for beginners. Awards & Honours: Scholarship from the Department of Human Resources Development, Abhinaya Kala Ratna.
