Piyali Biswas De is an accomplished Bharatanatyam and non-classical dance exponent, guru, and well-known choreographer, primarily based in the Pacific Northwest region of America. Her foundational training in dance was received from various esteemed teachers in India. Demonstrating a versatile artistic range, she has also delved into and mastered several Western dance forms, including Tap, Flamenco, Paso Doble, and Contemporary Western. Biswas De has established herself as a performer of considerable repute, with a history of extensive performances throughout the US Pacific Northwest. Over the past twelve years, she has been a prolific figure in the Seattle area's dance scene, actively choreographing, directing, and producing numerous shows. Her commitment extends beyond performance, as she also directs various fundraising shows for local non-profit and cultural organizations, showcasing her dedication to community enrichment through the arts. Piyali Biswas De is the visionary founder of "Dance Tantra," a Bharatanatyam dance academy that caters to both beginners and experienced dancers, aiming to elevate their skills. Additionally, she established "Sadhana," a non-profit art and cultural organization. Through these initiatives, Biswas De is deeply passionate about the promotion and propagation of Indian Classical art, not only within the Pacific Northwest but also to a broader audience. Outside of her artistic endeavors, she maintains a career as an IT professional in Seattle and is an avid Crossfitter, participating in multiple obstacle and endurance races annually.
