Guru K.H. Haritha, also known as Haritha Haridas, is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, teacher, and choreographer specializing in Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Her extensive training began at the age of five, leading her to the prestigious Kalakshetra in Chennai, where she completed her post-graduate studies in Bharatanatyam. She further honed her skills under the tutelage of Smt. Shyamala Surendran at the Dharani School of Performing Arts in Kochi, where she focused on both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Haritha holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Bharatanatyam from SASTRA University, undertaken under the guidance of the legendary Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Since July 2024, she has been pursuing a Diploma for Dance Teacher Training (Sikhshapurna) at Darshan Educational & Charitable Trust and advanced Mohiniyattam training under Smt. Sandra Pisharody. Haritha has had a prolific career as a performer, including serving as a principal artiste with the Kalakshetra Repertory Company, performing in numerous productions globally. She established her own dance production company, Nrittaratna. Currently based in Singapore, she is the Founder Director and Lead Instructor at the Medasvi School of Dance, which caters to over 100 students. She has also taught at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) from 2015-2017 and rejoined in February 2022. With over 30 years of classical dance experience, she has performed in more than 100 events across India and Singapore. Guru Haritha began her teaching journey in 2007, both in India and abroad, and is an advocate for using dance to explore contemporary themes and inspire social change.
