Gyanendra Dutt Bajpai is a distinguished Bharatanatyam performer, teacher, and choreographer, traditionally trained in the Tanjore style of Bharatanatyam classical dance. He received his training under the tutelage of Padmabhushan Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan. Bajpai holds a Nritya Kovid (8 years Diploma) in Bharatanatyam from IKS University, Khairagarh. He is recognized as a Graded Artist by Delhi Doordarshan Kendra and has had his classical dance performances telecast on various national and international television channels, including Doordarshan, Star Plus, Aaj Tak, Sun TV, Raj TV, ETV, Fuji-8 TV, Nihon TV, and NHK. Notably, NHK (Japanese TV Channel) featured a special program of Bharatanatyam dance lessons conducted by him. His career highlights include participating in the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in New Delhi in 2010. He has performed at numerous national-level festivals such as the Konark Music & Dance Festival, All India Sanskrit Conference, Lucknow Mahotsav, and the Ruby Festival of Ganesa Natyalaya. Internationally, Bajpai has been on deputation to the Indian Culture Centre, Tokyo, to impart Bharatanatyam nuances in Japan, and has performed in countries like Madagascar, Mauritius, Korea, and Sri Lanka. He is also a member of the UNESCO-International Dance Council and is enlisted as a 'Performing Guru' by the Association of Bharatanatyam Artists of India (ABHAI). As an academic and researcher, Gyanendra Dutt Bajpai has presented twelve research papers at national and international seminars and has authored a chapter in “Bhartiya Sangeetagya” by Dr. Lavanya Kirti Singh “Kavya”. Since June 2005, he has been serving as a Lecturer-Bharatanatyam at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in Lucknow, India. He has also choreographed several ballets, including "Jugalbandi," "Abhishaap," and a fusion with Korean dance-Salpuri.
