Harini Kendey

Harini Kendey is an accomplished Indian classical Kathak dancer from Karnataka, India. She received her professional training in Kathak under the tutelage of Smt. Simran Godhwani, a renowned Kathak exponent from Bangalore who runs Krshala Dance Theatre. Smt. Godhwani herself is a disciple of Shri Murari Sharan Gupta, who was trained by the Kathak maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj, placing Kendey in a distinguished lineage of Kathak. Harini Kendey has completed a Diploma pass course from Kathak Kendra and a Diploma honours course from Aamad Dance Centre. As of March 2021, she was pursuing a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Kathak (2nd Year) from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh. Kendey has performed extensively across India and internationally, including in the United States, often representing India alongside her Guru. Her performances include various festivals such as Antarang (Annual festivals of Aamad Dance academy), Purana Quila Festival (organized by Delhi Govt in 2016), Pratibha Utsav (Festival of young dancers – Rajiv Chowk, organized by SKP and Delhi Govt in 2013), and World Dance Day festivals (organized by ICCR and Kalashram, and at India Habitat Centre). She also won first prize for Kathak at the MTNL-Health Mela and showcased her talent in a solo performance at the Festival of young dancers organized by Aamad Dance Academy. Harini Kendey is also involved in corporate initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within Indian classical dance, providing opportunities for artists to perform at corporate events. She is associated with Kavilaya Dance Academy, located in Bangalore, which offers online and offline Kathak classes for both children and adults.
