🪔 About

Haritha Haridas is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, teacher, and the Founder Director and Lead Instructor of Medasvi School of Dance in Singapore. With over 30 years of experience in classical dance, she is proficient in both Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam, having performed in more than 100 events and programs across India and Singapore. Her extensive training began under the tutelage of Smt. Shyamala Surendran, a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award, at the Dharani School of Performing Arts in Kochi, Kerala. Smt. Surendran is a disciple of Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma for Mohiniyattam and The Dhananjayans for Bharatanatyam. Haritha furthered her academic qualifications by earning a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA Bharatanatyam) from SASTRA University in Thanjavur, where she studied under the guidance of the legendary danseuse Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam and her team. Since July 2024, she has been pursuing a Diploma for Dance Teacher Training (Sikhshapurna) at Darshan Educational & Charitable Trust, under Dr. C P Unnikrishnan, and advanced Mohiniyattam training under Smt. Sandra Pisharody. Haritha Haridas established the Medasvi School of Dance in Singapore in April 2020, where she currently teaches over 100 students of various age groups in Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam. Her teaching philosophy incorporates the pedagogy of her gurus along with her own exercises and theoretical insights. She has been a lead performer in Dharani productions such as Shree Shakti, Tatwamasi, and Chitoorappan, and has presented Mohiniyattam ensembles at significant cultural events, including "Ente Veedu, My Home - Malayalees in Singapore" at the Indian Heritage Centre, Singapore, and India's Republic Day celebrations at the High Commission of India in Singapore.
