Hetal Joshi Nagaraj, an accomplished Indian classical dancer and educator, is recognized for her profound contributions to Bharatanatyam and Indian Folk Dances. Known in the performing arts world as Hetal Nagaraj, she commenced her extensive training in Indian Performing Arts around 1984 or 1985, accumulating over 40 years of experience by 2025. Her foundational training in Bharatanatyam was under formal guru Lt. Smt. Daksha V. Joshi and her mother, Lt. Smt. Daksha M. Joshi. She further honed her skills at esteemed institutions such as Darpana Academy of Performing Arts in Ahmedabad, Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, Natyavihar Kalakendra's Artistic Productions in Mumbai, and through the Traditional Tanjore Brothers Margam in Tanjore. Joshi Nagaraj's artistic repertoire extends beyond Bharatanatyam to include Sadir, Kshatriyas, Kalaripayattu, Chhau, and various Indian Folk Dances. She also has expertise in contemporary forms like Hip-hop, Fitness, Contemporary, Modern, Theater, Fusion Dances, and Bollywood. She began her journey as a freelance choreographer in 1999, performing and competing successfully in Indian dance competitions. In 2004, she relaunched as an independent artist in Michigan, USA, and by 2011, established Grace And Grooves LLC in Texas, USA. Her teaching legacy is significant, having taught over 3,500 students in India and the USA and mentored more than 6,000 learners across various disciplines by 2024. Grace And Grooves, based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, specializes in Bharatanatyam and Indian Folk Dances, and also offers Bollywood and other dance forms. In January 2018, she founded Anantha, an exclusive Indian Dance Production platform dedicated to complete artistic storytelling, advanced Bharatanatyam repertoire, and creative choreography within traditional frameworks. Hetal Joshi Nagaraj has garnered 32 titles and awards in Indian dance competitions in both India and the USA since 1999. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University.
